Set within a 750 acre thoroughbred horse farm, a quintessential Kentucky landscape, Hermitage Farm will become a world-class Agro tourism destination. The themes of this destination focus on bourbon, thoroughbred horses, and agriculture. A stable is converted into a restaurant along with bourbon tastings, and a polo barn is converted into a visitor center. Site improvements include a new parking facility, formal vegetable and flower gardens, greenhouses, an orchard, and a boardwalk trail along a creek with art experience of projected light. Contextually sensitive design, sustainability and materiality were taken into account throughout the design process in order to preserve the special qualities of this beautiful farm setting.
