The Highland Presbyterian Church Nursery and Weekday School has embarked on an initiative to renovate the Play Park, providing a natural setting where children can engage in cooperative and self-directed play. BDC worked with the client to refine the park program and developed two conceptual plans, producing a master plan for the preferred design. It features a curving tricycle path, water play, sand, loose parts, boulders, and a wood platform, providing ample opportunities for children to develop strong, agile and coordinated bodies through climbing, digging, jumping, running, and balancing. Dramatic play, artistic expression and tinkering are encouraged and nurtured in the play yard. The project was completed in 2016.
