St. Gabriel endeavored to create a half acre natural play park for their school, parish, and the Fern Creek community by acquiring land adjacent to their existing campus. Through a highly collaborative process, BDC developed programming, prepared a master plan, supported a fundraising initiative, and brought the natural play park design to fruition. The project is currently under construction and is slated for completion in May of 2018. Organized around a primary path system, the natural playground has a series of themed play areas accommodating children from pre-kindergarten through middle school. Interactive water play, a music garden, sand play, a gaga pit, and other play elements are incorporated into the overall design with a natural look and feel.
